About

Adam Chambers is a young, experienced and enthusiastic horseman, with a strong focus on the welfare and environment of all horses in his care. He is quickly making a name for himself in the racing industry, as his respected business continues to get great results.

With Adam’s grassroots and attention to detail approach, all owners are kept regularly updated via our online platform, can easily stay in touch with various racing plans and preparations and have access to all information in the palm of their hand.

At AJ Chambers Racing we like to think of ourselves as more of a connected community than a business, and we look forward to welcoming you on board to experience the thrill of racing with like-minded owners who share a love and passion for horses.

Adam Chambers

Adam Chambers has always had a love for horses, and has been around them from a young age, growing up with them on the family farm. Before getting his trainers licence Adam was fortunate to work for, and learn off, some of the most respected names in horse racing.

Adam credits Francis O’Rourke as the trainer that he initially started with and was a great help to his emerging career. Francis spent a lot of time teaching Adam, particularly on the importance of beach work/training for horses and how utilising this space can leave horses feeling fresh both mentally and physically. Additionally, Francis taught Adam about weaning foals and how to handle young racehorses.

Adam then worked for the Lindsay Park stable, under the tutelage of David Hayes for 3 years, before moving to SA to spend an additional 2 years with Tony McEvoy. The wealth of knowledge that was passed on from these trainers cannot be understated, and has helped to set Adam up for what will be a long and prosperous career.

Adam has also travelled overseas to experience different training environments for horses, and has a distinct love for the Japanese style of racing.

Jake Burgess

Business Development Manager

Adam and Jake have been mates for a long time, initially meeting as players at the Woodford Cricket Club. They played cricket together, with Jake becoming captain and always willing to throw the new ball to Adam who had an uncanny ability to find an early breakthrough!

Jake works with our stable in his spare time on all things related to the emerging online presence of AJ Chambers Racing. This is inclusive of social media, websites, owners updates, communications and all financials/accounts.

Jake is also a keen form student, an owner of horses with Adam, and is excited to bring the level of customer service at AJ Chambers Racing to a whole new level. Jake can be contacted directly on 0409 893 770.

Brenton O'Rourke

Stable Foreman

Brenton is a very experienced horseman, having grown up with them and being involved with them for his whole life. He has also had a wealth of experience passed down from his father Francis, especially in regards to training horses around the local South-West Victoria area.

Brenton performed a stint of work with Adam at the Lindsay Park establishment in Angaston where he refined his skills in many areas. He is also very good with some of our more difficult horses, and shows great horsemanship.

Brenton is looking to increase his role and workload with the stable, and we are looking forward to him doing so, in areas such as pre-training. No job is too big of an ask for Brenton, and his experience benefits the stable greatly.

Luke Williams

Breaking-In, Pre-Training & Riding

Luke Williams is a great asset to the AJ Chambers Racing team, and can be relied upon to do just about anything that we require – he is commonly referred to as our “Jack of all Trades”!

Luke is very experienced with all things related to horses, and has been involved with almost every aspect of the horse racing caper across his journey. He currently helps with breaking-in and pre-training our young horses, as well as riding track work. He is also a big help when it comes to some of our more difficult horses, as he has a wealth of knowledge with fixing behavioural issues such as temperament and barrier manners.

Luke has also experienced plenty of success for the stable when it comes to his work as a race rider, particularly in 2020 where he has won on Tough Vic on 3 occasions!
