It was another inch-perfect ride from jockey Tom Madden, who ensured Major Share was able to travel strongly throughout and sustain his speed from start to finish. Post-race, Madden mentioned “he’s very straightforward, gets himself into a nice rhythm, switches off and has a nice turn of foot” before adding that winning a race at Flemington was a great thrill “Flemington’s the pinnacle of Australian racing, I’ve had a bit of success at home, this is my best win here”.

Both racing.com and 7 Horse Racing were on hand to interview trainer Adam Chambers who immediately paid tribute to the late Dean Holland, “The last time I was here at this track was for his funeral and I followed his coffin down the straight and the next time I was going to be here I was going to be winning a race and thinking of Dean”. Chambers added that Major Share was still learning about racing and will only continue to improve, “He’s very genuine, tough and knuckled down to win. He’ll only get better with racing.”
