The racing.com cameras were also on hand to interview trainer Adam Chambers who mentioned the time was a bit eery as “Lady Solly ran 54.90 and she sat three-wide no cover before digging in and chiming in late, which is exactly what this horse (Major Share) did tonight”.
Chambers also showed obviously relief with the win, following Major Share’s unplaced run at Warrnambool on the heavy track, saying “I’ve had a few restless nights in bed since Jericho Cup Day because he was absolutely horrible”.
Chambers finished by alluding to the horse’s exciting talent, saying “we had big offers from Hong Kong, but Tom and I have got the faith in this horse and I’ve certainly got the faith in Tom. You see the big trainers poach good horses off small trainers and I’m not going to let that happen”.
