Major Share – 1st – 1000m Maiden – Terang 19 December 2023
A powerful finishing burst from Major Share ensured that he started his career with a win, in front of a big group of proud owners.
Following a number of jump outs leading into the race, the three-year-old gelding by Overshare showcased his talent by running out an impressive 1.25 length winner.
Jockey Tom Madden, notching up his first win for the stable, gave the horse every possible chance after jumping well and sitting behind the leading pair. With 200m to go he got him out to the best part of the track and pressed the button, getting an instant response from Major Share who was very strong to the line.
Trainer Adam Chambers was glowing of the effort post-race, mentioning “he’s showed really good talent in all of his trials”. Chambers was delighted to win in front of so many of the stable’s loyal owners, saying “it was probably the biggest crowd I’ve had saddling up a runner before so I hoped the horse ran well, but he certainly did”.
Chambers finished by giving a shoutout to Rob Carlisle and the crew at Two Bays Farm, who we purchased the horse from at the 2022 Adelaide Magic Millions Sale.
