Speedy Kev’s Girl salutes first-up

A speedy, front-running display ensured Kev’s Girl returned to the races a winner.

First-up since early March 2023, Kev’s Girl bounced cleanly from the gates and never looked back, running out a comfortable two-length winner.

Apprentice Jaylah Kennedy was handed the reins for the first time and allowed Kev’s Girl to bowl along in front at a high cruising speed, doing her thing.

Unfortunately there was no post-race interviews, but Kennedy mentioned to owners that she was “very impressed”, that “the horse went super” and “she’ll take good improvement”.

This win was the fifth of her career and has taken her earnings to $138,875, from eighteen starts. Adam will assess the calendar for her next assignment, with an eye to either a Moonee Valley 955m race or a sprint race on Dunkeld Cup day.
