Jockey Tom Madden navigated the wide barrier with ease, by putting her on speed and in the best part of the track. She was very strong to the line, running out a two and a half-length winner, and we are looking forward to seeing her progression during this prep.

The racing.com cameras were also on hand to interview trainer Adam Chambers who alluded to her strong first up form by mentioning “she’s a seven-year-old mare who knows what she’s doing, so I didn’t feel the need to trial her” and that “last prep she ran 3rd at Moonee Valley first up and was really getting home late”.

The win takes Tequila Storm’s career prizemoney to $62,060 from her fourteen starts and Adam will now assess the calendar for options for her next start. A trip back to a metro class meeting seems likely, as she deserves another opportunity to claim a win in town.
